Reading with TLC - Testimonials
The following testimonials of our programs and workshops are quotes from reading
specialists, speech / language pathologists, remedial reading instructors,
private tutors, and teachers of students in regular and special education
classes.
I teach a substantially separate kindergarten (TK). I have been to different
kindergarten / first grade workshops and, although the material presented
is usually exciting, I never seem to be able to use it in my classroom because
of the level of my students. This is the first workshop in a long time that
I am able to go back to my classroom and immediately apply what I have learned.
I am so excited! Thank you!
Kate K. - Quincy, MA
I can’t believe how much I have learned in just 2 days. The strategies
I learned about make so much sense, and the research obviously supports it.
I believe that these strategies will help students, and, as a new teacher,
I am excited to incorporate them into my lessons. Thank you very much!
Becky G. – Blackstone/Millville Regional Schools, MA
It’s refreshing to finally attend a workshop that focuses on therapy
techniques and practical strategies that we can use with our students. Delivery
is upbeat and quickly paced. The time flies by due to high interest and presentation
style. Your anecdotal remarks bring the human side to a clinical program.

I love using the Lively Letters program in my classroom. I work with
an eight to ten year-old population with below average intelligence in the
Boston Public Schools…. The sound / letter association and sound segmentation
aspects of the Telian program give these children a solid, concrete, multisensory
system to hold onto. The mnemonics are constantly referred to during the day.
The children even help other children with the clues and hand motions they’ve
adapted to certain sounds. In conjunction with the Telian cards and the Lindamood
techniques, I am able to successfully use other published phonics programs.
Midge J. – Boston, MA
The time spent here has been fun and valuable. There were so many great
ideas presented. I have really enjoyed your presentation. Throughout the years
I have attended many workshops, but none as well presented as yours. Keep
up the format as it is. It was very enjoyable.
Louise F. - Braintree, MA
This program is unbelievable! We’ve been using it in kindergarten
and it has benefited all. Teachers have really adopted it and the kids get
so excited!
Karen T. – Abington, MA
I continue to be amazed with the effectiveness of the program despite the
severity of the disorders.
Linda B. – Monroe, LA
This seminar was packed with information that is designed for children
who have great difficulty to those children who are good readers but need
to learn words that follow no specific phonetic rules. The stories are creative,
and the emphasis on placement of tongue and teeth, as well as the voice on
and off, help with speech difficulties as well. Lessons on syllables are excellent.
With all the repetition and activities, children should excel in reading.
Thank you so much.
Joyce W. - Needham, MA
Big congratulations! My at-risk first grade class achieved total success!
Tom I. – Uxbridge, MA
This was a fabulous, informative, helpful course. The materials are so
creative and well thought out. Having just completed O-G [Orton-Gillingham],
which was excellent, but dry, this is the perfect complement to it. It is
fun, lively, helpful, and an easy transition and enhancement to O-G. Since
I will be tutoring in an O-G program, as well as privately, I found that this
was extremely helpful and I can’t wait to get started! Thanks!
Linda A. - Lexington, MA
This was an excellent seminar. I see REAL applications for my work with
severely apraxic students. (I’m an SLP) The cards, other materials,
and presentations were very accessible and informative.
Stephanie A. - Boston, MA
I found this workshop to be extremely useful. I work in classrooms, small
groups, and with individual children, and I feel confident teaching Telian
in any of those situations. I can’t wait to get back and start!
Kari R. - Newton, MA
I’ve been looking for effective ways of helping ESL students to
learn English letter sounds. They’re going to be so excited to hear
these stories! Thank you for being so clear. I feel ready to start using this
system.
Joy S. - Acton, MA
I started out a skeptic and now feel like I will use a lot of your ideas.
It is very evident that you have worked with 100’s (1000’s???)
of kids and have developed procedures and ideas that work! I love King Ed
and your ideas to teach multisyllable words. Also – a rarity –
you covered everything you planned!
Carol D. - Milton, MA
I found this seminar to be informative and extremely useful! Most of
these seminars bombard you with information and you leave feeling overwhelmed.
I am truly excited and happy to say that I feel well –prepared to use
this program in an extremely productive, fun, and “true” manner.
Thank you! Keep it up!
Sigal G. - Boston, MA
Overall thrilled with the program, and with the presentation. Loved having
videos to provide examples. Presenters were effective, professional, and personable,
which I think is a rare combination. Also liked how other programs were always
encouraged, and were not de-valued while discussing the implications and strengths
of the Telian program.
Heather S. - Hooksett, NH
I found this program very interesting. I enjoyed it very much. I am very
pleased that my class really enjoys doing the Lively Letters in my class.
They might not realize that they are learning because this is fun! Fun! Fun!
Thanks.
